In this course, students will build a rock-solid foundation in ratios and proportions through a logical, sequential approach that introduces each concept only after the previous one is fully understood. Every lesson is carefully designed so that students progress naturally from mastering ratios, to understanding proportions, to confidently graphing linear equations in the form y = kx. Parents can feel confident that their child will not just memorize steps, but truly understand the why behind ea

Meet Your Teacher

Sean Berg

Founder & CEO

I teach math classes that encourage students to find patterns and develop confidence and mathematical curiosity. This higher-order thinking is paired with expertly laid out methods that build repetition and automaticity so that students remember what to think about and how to apply it when problem-solving. Whether I am teaching fraction computation, exponents or how to solve multi-step equations, all lessons are built around students making SENSE of the concept and knowing WHY it works.

I have a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University and I have been teaching math for well over twenty years. I know I can expertly get your student to understand material that confuses them. My teaching philosophy is built on questioning and making connections to truly understand where confusion lies. Once the misunderstanding is uncovered I apply strategies to connect new material with what the student does understand.

I love living at the beach and drawing inspiration from the ocean, sand and waves. At 56 years of age I still strive to learn something new every single day!
